About ATR Electric

The Portland Electricians Behind Every Job

ATR Electric is a licensed electrical contractor serving Portland and the surrounding communities. Anthony Riddick started the company in 2025 after seeing too many people left with work that was never finished, or never done right. It is a team of three, small on purpose, and Anthony still prices every job and stays with it to the final inspection.

Any Electrical Job

A dead outlet gets the same walkthrough and the same standard as a full rewire. Small work is not filler between the big jobs.

Homes and Businesses

Homeowners, landlords, contractors and business owners. One rule covers all of them: treat people the way you want to be treated.

Why ATR Electric

Trust, Craftsmanship, and Doing the Job Right

A brass ring chandelier hanging on a long chain in a double-height entry hall above an arched window

Pride in the Trade

Conductors dressed in, boxes set square, the panel labeled. The parts nobody inspects match the parts they do.

No Unnecessary Callbacks

No shortcuts and no rushed work, so the wiring holds up and nobody has to come back and open the wall again.

Never Sold What You Don't Need

Large companies count on a homeowner not knowing enough to argue. You get told what the job needs and nothing past it.

Honest Communication

You hear about a change while the job is open, not when the invoice lands. Questions get answered in plain English.

An Electrician Who Shows Up

A day that holds, a phone that gets answered, and a job that is finished before the next one is started.

Electrical Safety, Not Just Power

An outlet that works can still be ungrounded. Safe and working are not the same thing, and only one of them is the job.

“Anthony had a better idea. The other Electrician came out and gave a bid for $14,000. I thought that was a little high and decided to get another opinion. Anthony had ideas that the other guys never even thought of.”

Good to Know

What People Ask ATR Electric First

Are you licensed, bonded and insured?

Yes. ATR Electric is a licensed, bonded and insured electrical contractor in Oregon and in Washington, so work on either side of the river is covered. Both license numbers are on the contact page, before you book anything rather than after the work is done.

Do you charge for an estimate?

Estimates on planned work are free, and you approve a written scope and a number before anything starts. Tracking down a fault is quoted separately, because finding it is the work. Labor covers time on the job, not time spent collecting materials.

Do you pull electrical permits?

On any work that requires one, yes. Unpermitted electrical can hold up a home sale, complicate an insurance claim, and has to be opened back up for an inspector later anyway. It is not a corner worth cutting.

How do I know if my electrical panel needs upgrading?

The usual signs are breakers tripping when two appliances run together, no space left for a new circuit, fuses instead of breakers, or a Federal Pacific or Zinsco label on the door. One visit is enough to tell you whether the panel is the problem or something downstream of it is.

Can my electrical panel handle an EV charger?

That depends on the load already on it, which is why every EV charger installation starts with a load calculation and not a quote. Plenty of Portland homes have the capacity sitting there unused. If yours does not, you hear that before the job is booked, not on install day.
